Dalton bases her work on the industrial atmosphere of derelict spaces within the urban cityscapes. Focusing on colours and textures based on decay. Conceptually, the project stemmed from Dalton’s interest in found objects and how they can effect and define certain aspects of our lives. Dalton believes the process of decay and waste encapsulates a great deal about society and our transformative role within it.
Dalton’s print work explores how to recreate textures and surfaces whilst still remaining in a 2-D form. The installation process combines these prints with found objects taken from abandoned spaces. This is curated in a set style to depict stories of the environments visited by the artist.
